halloween

I was way too slow this year to get photos, but here are the kids carving their pumpkins and one of Mikah on Halloween night.  Maesyn was a snow princess and Jake was a Ninja. We got his costume in Flagstaff when I had a Dr.s Appt. 

Nate's Camera: This is Halloween

It seems that I am bad getting Halloween pictures these days.  This is about it.  The kids carved their pumpkins and then they went trick or treating!  We also had friends over for hot dogs and chili.  It was a fun night, and we are glad that we live in a good neighborhood for trick or treating.  However, because it is such a good neighborhood (houses close together, paved roads) we get a lot of people from all over town coming just to be here.  We had to buy a lot of candy this year!

Major Award for Maesyn

Maesyn's teacher called to Make sure we would be at school when she received this Character Counts award.  She and a few of her friend earned them.

Maesyn's teacher called me a few days prior to the event below to tell me that Maesyn had been chosen for an award at school.  It was very important and we needed to let all of our family know so that she could be celebrated.  Well, all of our family is out of town.  And I was a few minutes late to the event and missed it!  Man alive! 

Thankfully Nate arrived on time and got some good pictures.

How to spend a fall day in the mountains

The weather is cool and fantastic and we live in a wonderful part of the state, but we don't get out and enjoy it enough.  We get too caught up in life, so we decided to go for a little bike ride!  We sort of forgot how the days end earlier and got caught in the dark with only 2 bike lights! 

 Sometimes I get fed up and have to give myself a time out, this time it was a drive alone and the kids and Nate wrote me a note so I would not run away again!

It is fun to just spend time together as a family.

Nate's Camera: October Bike Ride

In the Fall, Nate got an I phone and because it has a good Camera, and he always has his phone with him, we have been taking more photos.  Unfortunatly it has taken until now to load them onto the computer. 

We had a nice warm fall, this photo was taken mid October, and we went out for a bike ride to a friend's house.  It took quite a while to get up the big hill behind our house, and once we were heading hope it started to get dark.  I had a light on my bike that helped.  We decided to get Jake a light for his birthday so we could be seen in the off chance we are stuck out riding after dark again.

It is a pity that we did not do more family bike rides over the summer when the days were longer.  I think that we were so busy working on the house and then we went on a long vacation after.  I think we will be seeing more bike rides in our future next summer.
