Jake's Birthday Party

Jake turned 2 on Monday, but Nate had class so we had his party on Tuesday Night. I made homemade Chili and Sarah and I made Doggie Cupcakes the night before. It took a LONG TIME to make them, only to be spit on (by the birthday boy when he "blew" out the candles) and eaten up in just a few bites.
Here is the birthday boy blowing out the candles.
I feel bad, it is a busy time of year and I forgot the candles. So he had Easter egg candles that Grandma Garner just happened to have.
When it was all said and done he said (in his own way) that his favorite part of the party was blowing out the candles. So Grandma Garner, Jake, Maesyn and Boy Reagan (we have a girl Reagan cousin too) sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out the candles 20 more times.
While doing a little shopping with Nate and Jake the day after Thanksgiving, Nate let Jake play with one of these in the store. Jake loved it and Nate wanted to get it for him. Being the mother that frequently shops with her children I knew that I do not get everything for my kids just because they LOVE it in the store. The feeling is fleeting and I don't have room for everything they want. But Nate rarely gets to spend time with the kids or pick gifts for them, so I let him get this for Jake.
Now, there was a much bigger Dino that moved and possibly walked that Nate would have also bought had we the space and money to do so. (I don't know if it was because Jake loved it or because Nate loved it).
So far Maesyn loves this Dinosaur and wanted to take it outside today so that they could play with it. Jake also loved it last night and put gift bags on it's horns.
Grandma Anderson made Jake his own Man Apron. So now all of his pictures of him baking with mom will include him in his manly apron rather than his sisters pink one.
Additional clothing will be optional. Naturally.

Jake is a great person to give a gift to. He LOVES everything right when he opens it. He even loved all of his gifts when he turned 1. This video is proof.
