muffin trees

On our drive home from the valley this week Mikah got really excited because she saw a muffin tree!!!  I could not tell what she was talking about until I saw all the blooming century plants.  She wanted us to pull over so we could get a muffin and taste it.  I should have stopped the first chance I saw one next to the road....but I though there would be another one close.  They were all over the hills.  I had to tell her that they were just flowers.  It is funny how we take things for grated if we see them all the time.  She is my only kid that gets so excited to see the cactus when we get into the dessert!  She is my mountain girl! 

Bike the bluff

We like to do this race because it is local.  Nate and Steve like to choose the long distance.... Over a half century, probably about a metric century and they love it, although they do not really train for the long distance.  I was signed up for the citizens ride but I got an awful stomach bug.  I lost tons of weight and did not feel better until the day before the race.

Phoenix children's museum

Maesyn always wants to go to a museum.  Over the cooler months I old her she needed to wait until the summer to go to the museums when it was too hot outside.  I took all the kids one day when I was in the valley.  It was an adventure.  The kids had fun, and that was the most important part!

ben is a crawler

A few weeks ago- i'd say mid May...Ben began crawling.  I think it frustrated him at first, I think he wants to walk...but crawl he does, and fast.  He pulls himself up to stand and even crawls up the stairs!  Watch out world.

For Mother's Day I wanted an SUP.  Nate did some research and picked one out.  We wanted one that would fit 2 people but after watching Nate ride with jake I think I want to either ride with the kids or solo.  To be fair, he had been swimming prior!
